The Final Home Game

And just like that, the final home game has come and gone. Our squads have two more games this week, in Vancouver and Kamloops, and then that’s that for the 2026 BCPL season. 

Our women’s team has “been very competitive in every game this season,” NUFC’s technical lead Daragh Fitzgerald reported, “but yesterday [Saturday] they were off it and were punished by a good Langley team.” On the men’s side, Fitzgerald noted that they responded well after going 1-0 down. “They created lots of opportunities to level things up and Langley's second goal was a little bit against the run of play.” 

From the youth development side of things, it’s been a season for the history books. “One big positive from the season has been the increased connection and awareness between our BCPL teams and the wider club,” Fitzgerald commented. 

Seeing players like Keana Kirby, Kai Bisaro-De Faria and Sophia Montpetit making appearances for the BCPL teams shows the club pathway in action. Credit to everyone for working hard to create that youth to BCPL connection this year and inspiring the next generation of NUFC players.

WHAT’S NEXT

It’s going to be a busy final week for our players! On Wednesday, both squads head to Vancouver to face off against Altitude FC one last time and then on Saturday, they are off to Kamloops for their final game and the final leg of the Reid Davidson Charity Shield.
