Q’unq’inuqwstuxw Stadium is going to be a hotbed of activity on Sunday! The World Cup has been a hot topic at practices and has “for sure added extra energy around training and made everything feel a bit sharper and more competitive!” women’s coach Fransisco Souza shared. We’re looking forward to seeing what kind of World Cup fan energy our crowd brings to Sunday’s game. We’re proud to be able to feature Pro-Am soccer right in your backyard!
The women kick-off at 12:30 PM and the men follow at 3 PM. Their opponent: TSS Rovers.

Women’s coach Fransisco Souza gave us an insight into the team’s world:
The players deserve a lot of credit. The standings don’t tell the full story of the work this group has put in every week. We’ve learned tough lessons this season about details, and that’s what decides games at this level. We’re ready for Sunday against TSS Rovers.
My favourite memory has probably been watching different players step up when the team needed them most. Every season has moments where people can either hide or take responsibility, and this group has never stopped competing.

A COMMUNITY MOMENT
During the halftime of the women’s game, Nanaimo United will be celebrating their graduating high school athletes and scholarship recipients. We are proud to present 6 scholarships to students entering their first year of post-secondary studies as well as undergraduates continuing their academic journeys.
BCPL player, Ethan Lunny, will be receiving the club’s most prestigious scholarship, the Reid Davidson award. This annual scholarship is for NUFC members who have gone above and beyond in their contributions to the club and soccer community. We look forward to celebrating these athletes with you!
